People who are addicted to power and love to control other peoples lives don't want you to be pro-active and they invest heavily in making sure you stay complacent. You may not change anything and you may change everything, but you will never know unless you try. Either way, when you are pro active you have nothing to lose and you get to have a good time antagonizing those who mess with your life and want to control you for their own sinister agenda.
